| FISHING
Mauch Chunk Lake offers a variety of warmwater fishing opportunities and is managed under the Commission's Big
Bass Program. All other species are managed under Commonwealth
Inland Waters regulations. The Commission stocks the lake with juvenile walleye.
The
lake is a good ice fishing destination for perch and walleye, bluegill and pickerel can also be caught
through the ice.
Fish habitat structures have been placed
in the lake over the years as part of the Commission's Cooperative
Fish Habitat Improvement Program.
A fully accessible fishing pier is located on the lake.
BOATING
Boating is limited to boats powered by electric motors and un-powered boats, sailboats are restricted to a maximum
of 17 feet in length. There are 2 access points and associated parking facilities, both have a surfaced
launch ramp. Boat rentals are available at the lake.
Un-powered boats may be moored at the lake in accordance with Commission
property regulations. To be used at the lake, boats must be registered or
have a valid launch permit (permits are issued by the Commission or
PA Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources). |
