| General Navigation |
You can navigate (move your view) in two dimensions in any Google Map. To pan (move the map), do one of the following:
- Click and drag the map
- Press the up arrow on your keyboard to move north
- Press the down arrow on your keyboard
to move south
- Press the right arrow on your keyboard to move east
- Press the left arrow on your keyboard
to move west
Additionally, you can zoom in or out pressing the + or - keys. Move the cursor over a location
and use the mouse scroll button to zoom in or out on that location. To center and zoom in on a location,
double click the location. |

| 1 - Navigation Controls |

The navigation controls you see for most of our interactive maps are shown on the left. Navigation controls include:
- Arrows - Click the appropriate arrow buttons to move the view north, south, east or west. Click
to
return to your original view.
- Zoom - Click + to zoom in on the center of the map. Click - to zoom out.
- Zoom slider - Drag the zoom slider up or down to zoom in or out incrementally.

| 2 - Info Window |

Info windows appear when you click a marker and display additional information about the location. To view the
info window for a marker, do one of the following:
- Click the marker
- Click the marker in the Search results tab
- Click the appropriate link in the Search results tab
Info windows contain more information about the marker/item chosen. You can also get driving directions. After
entering an address, clicking on the "Get Directions" button takes you to Google Maps with a map, directions
and all the other functionality provided by Google Maps.
Note the map can be panned to view information obscured by the info wondow.
To close an info window, click the icon
in the upper right corner of the info window. |

| 3 - Map Views |

Click these to display different map views:
- Map = street level imagery
- Satellite = aerial images
- Hybrid = both map and satellite
- Terrain = elevation / relief maps of 3D terrain and street map

| 4 - Markers |

Markers are used to signify a location. A legend is included on each web page that defines what the
markers are for on that page. For example, markers on our Biologist Reports page indicate waters
that have reports available.
Some examples of markers are shown at left. |

| 5 - Coordinates |
 |
|
Latitude (left box; in this example, 42.194951) & longitude (right box; in this example, -80.105438) boxes track
the coordinate position of the crosshair (center of map). To find specific coordinates on the map, enter
Latitude/Longitude values in the boxes and click on the "Move to Lat/Long" button
- Map will re-center to entered coordinates. |

| 6 - Crosshair |

Indicates the center point of the map. Latitude/longitude (lat/long) coordinates are displayed below the map.
The crosshair can be displayed/not displayed by clicking on the "Toggle Crosshair" button. |

| 7 - Help |
Moving your mouse over the icon
will display information about how to use a feature or other information about that feature. |
